Weekly Update: What’s New with the Personal MBA

Join the discussion in the PMBA forums

Join the PMBA member forums (they’re 100% free!) and introduce yourself to other PMBA members. While you’re there, debate the iPhone launch strategy or comment on any of the books on the PMBA Recommended Reading List. Take a moment to join today - we’re getting ready for some great conversations in the near future!

Personalmba.com Server Migration

We’ve successfully migrated to a brand new server, which should prevent future outages due to heavy traffic. It seems that we’ve lost a few images from previous posts, which I will be fixing as time allows. If you have any further technical issues with the site, please contact me by e-mail. (You can find my address at the bottom of my about page.)

PMBA Case Studies

PMBA Member (and current b-school student) Tyler Martin has offered to lead weekly case studies on the forums. If you’ve never participated in a case study, I highly recommend it… studying existing businesses is a wonderful way to bring what you’re learning to life with real-world examples. Case study topics will be announced soon. If you’re interested in participating, leave a comment on this thread so we can plan accordingly.

PMBA Coaching Update

I’m finalizing my plans for PMBA Coaching this week, and I’m planning to contact everyone who’s requested more information within the next few days. Working with a coach is one of the best ways to push yourself, learn as much as possible, and focus on applying what you learn to achieve your personal and professional goals.

If you’re interested, don’t be shy about requesting more information - I’m happy to informally chat with you to see if PMBA coaching is something you can benefit from before you make any sort of commitment. (Hurry, slots are going fast!)

Business Mental Models

As you know, I believe focusing on collecting broadly-applicable mental models is the quickest and most effective way to learn about business. Future posts on the PMBA blog will focus on examining these mental models and the PMBA books in which they’re found. Stay tuned!

If you're new to the Personal MBA, you'll want to check out the manifesto and recommended reading list to see what we're all about.

Also, be sure to become a PMBA Insider (it's free), as well as subscribe to the RSS feed to be notified when new posts are published. Thanks for visiting!
